Your evaluation

A Whole-Person Approach to Mental Health & Wellness

At Fresh Path, we practice integrative psychiatry, which means we look at your mental health through multiple lenses rather than focusing only on symptoms in isolation. Your evaluation may include:

  • A comprehensive psychiatric assessment
  • Review of relevant lab work and hormone levels when appropriate
  • Collaboration with your primary care provider or other clinicians
  • Consideration of genetic testing when indicated
  • Exploration of sleep, stress, trauma history, nutrition, and nervous system health

Our Values

Trauma-Informed and Safety-Oriented Care

Your experiences do not happen in isolation. Identity, culture, trauma history, and ongoing stress all play a role in how symptoms show up and how they are understood.

If you have ever felt dismissed, rushed, or not fully heard during a medical or mental health appointment, this approach is intentionally different. Fresh Path provides inclusive, trauma-informed care for adults of all genders, sexual orientations, racial and cultural identities.

Queer-affirming Neurodiversity-affirming Trauma-informed All genders welcome
"Your symptoms matter. Your experience matters. Your voice matters."

We are queer-affirming, neurodiversity-affirming, and committed to care that respects the full context of your life.

What We Do

Can an evaluation help me feel clearer and more in control?

When you understand what is contributing to your symptoms, it often becomes easier to know what direction to take next. A thorough evaluation can help reduce confusion and create a clearer path forward. Together, we build a collaborative care plan that may include your therapists, medical providers, and other specialists so every part of your care is working toward the same goals: clarity, stability, and resilience.

We spend real time with your history — psychiatric, medical, hormonal, nutritional, and relational — before reaching any conclusions. The quality of an evaluation depends on the breadth of what's considered, and we take that seriously.

Thyroid function, inflammatory markers, sex hormones, and nutrient levels all influence how psychiatric symptoms present — and are rarely checked in standard care. We review what's relevant to your picture and order targeted labs when indicated.

We coordinate with your existing providers so that your psychiatric evaluation builds on rather than duplicates what they already know. This coordination also ensures that any medication decisions account for your full health context.

Pharmacogenomic testing can clarify how your body processes certain medications and help explain why some have worked better than others. We use this when it adds meaningful information to your evaluation.

These are not supplementary questions — they are core to understanding how your nervous system is functioning. How you sleep, what you carry historically, and what you eat all directly shape how psychiatric symptoms manifest and respond to treatment.

The evaluation leads to a treatment plan that reflects everything we've learned. This may include medication, herbal support, lifestyle recommendations, psychotherapy referrals, and coordination with your existing team — all organized around your specific goals.
